Bihar Cong chief Ashok Choudhary removed from post

26 September, New Delhi

Bihar Congress President Ashok Choudhary was Tuesday removed from the post with immediate effect.

Party General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi informed this in New Delhi.

The party, however, did not announce his replacement.

The action comes amid reports of a possible split in the Bihar unit, which a section of the party alleged was being spearheaded by Ashok Choudhary.

There are also reports that some Congress members may join the ruling JD(U).

The party has 27 MLAs in the 243-member Bihar Assembly.
