BJP to organise weeklong Tiranga Yatra beginning 15th August

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked BJP MPs to work hard and study to raise the level of debate in Parliament. He was addressing the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting in New Delhi Tuesday.

Modi termed the Vikas Parva programmes organized on the completion of two years of NDA government as a success saying due to development oriented initiatives, people responded to programmes across the country enthusiastically.

Briefing reporters, Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu said, during the meeting, a discussion was held about the celebration of Independence Day on 15th of next month. He said the government has worked out programmes to be organized on the day and it will be given final touch after the consultation with BJP President Amit Shah and others.

On the occasion, the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj informed the MPs about Prime Minister’s recent foreign visits. They were also briefed about the recent celebrations of International Day of Yoga and anti- emergency day.

On the occasion of 70th Independence Day, BJP will organise week-long Tiranga Yatra next month. It will be carried out between 15th to 22nd August and BJP and NDA MPs besides workers will hold several programmes during the period to remember the freedom fighters and martyrs across the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about this during BJP Parliamentary Party meeting this morning. Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu will be the convenor of the programme. Talking to reporters, Mr. Naidu said, they have worked out some details but final plans will be announced following a discussion with BJP President Amit Shah.
