BSP Thursday continued to press its demand for immediate arrest of expelled BJP leader Dayashankar Singh, who had used indecent remarks against former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.
Talking to reporters outside Parliament, senior party leader Satish Chandra Mishra said, his party has lodged an FIR against Singh and now UP government has to take further action.
He said, BSP workers are protesting across the state and matter does not end by just apologising.
Senior JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav said, the expelled BJP leader must be booked under the SC and ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.
Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh said, such comments certainly hurt women whether it is Mayawati or anybody else.
He told media outside Parliament that his party has political rivalry with the BSP, but one should maintain political dignity.
Meanwhile, BJP has said it has taken strictest action against Dayashankar Singh for his derogatory remarks. Party General Secretary and state In-charge, Om Mathur said, BJP has been working in the interest of dalits since the time of Jan Sangh.
Earlier, BJP has expelled its Uttar Pradesh unit Vice President Dayashankar Singh from the party for six years.
