In Rajasthan, the results of bye-election poll have given a setback to BJP particularly to the Vashundhra Raje-led State Government. Congress snatched Alwar and Ajmer Parliamentary seats and Mandal Garh Assembly seat from BJP in bye-election.
In Mandal Garh of Bhilwara district, Congress candidate Vivek Dhakar defeated his nearest rival of Bhartiya Janta Party, Shakti Singh Hada by 12,976 votes. Congress Candidate Raghu Sharma won the Ajmer Parliamentary seat by 84 thousand 414 votes.
He defeated his nearest rival and BJP candidate Ramswaroop Lamba. In Alwar, Congress candidate Dr. Karan Singh Yadav defeated his nearest BJP rival of Dr. Jaswant Singh Yadav by over one lakh 96 thousand votes.
State Congress President Sachin Pilot said that people have rejected the State Government. He demanded resignation of Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje on moral ground. On the other hand, BJP State Unit Chief Ashok Parnami said that they accept the mandate. He said that the party will analyze the reasons of defeat.
In West Bengal, Trinamool Congress has won the by-elections of Uluberia parliamentary seat and the Noapara assembly constituency
