Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau along with his wife Sophie Gregoire and children visited the 17 century monument Taj Mahal on Sunday.
It was maiden visit of Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau after taking office in 2015. Mr Trudeau was on week-long visit here to promote trade and investment with India. “Wheels up for India and a busy visit, focused on creating good jobs and strengthening the deep connection between the people of our two countries” Mr Trudeau had tweeted before his visit.
After appreciating beauty of Taj in visitor book there, Mr Trudeau left foe wild life sanctuary near Mathura. He is scheduled to visit Ahmadabad, Ghandhinagar, Mumbai and Amritsar. In Amritsar he will visit Golden temple which is holiest pilgrimage of Sikhism.
Canada is home to more than 1.2 million Indians more than three percent of its population and Trudeau is joined by Sikh members of his cabinet for the visit.
