CBI court sentences Koli, Pandher to death in Nithari killings case

A Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Friday sentenceddeath penalty to Surender Koli and Moninder Singh Pandher in one of the Nithari killings cases.

“A Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) sentenced death panelty to two accused, Surender Koli and Moninder Singh Pandher with fine of Rs 35000 and Rs 25000 respectively in one of the Nithari group of cases related to murder,” CBI said in a statement here.

The probe agency said it had registered a case on January 11, 2007 against the accused on the request of Uttar Pradesh government and further notification from Centre.

The CBI said it was alleged that Surender Koli committed rape and murder of a victim at D-5, Sector 3, Noida (UP) on November 12, 2006.

It was further alleged in FIR that the victim had gone to the said house of Moninder Singh Pandher for house hold work and never came back, it stated.

The CBI said that after investigation, a charge-sheet was filed in the court under section 302, 364, 376/511 and 201 of IPC. Charges were framed on August 16, 2007.

On December 7,2017, both the accused were held guilty u/s 120-B, 302, 364, 376 and 201 of IPC by the Court, it stated.
