Congress and Samajwadi Party will fight together the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
Congress general secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, Ghulam Nabi Azad made a formal announcement in this regard at a press conference in New Delhi Tuesday.
Azad told journalists in Delhi that the details of alliance including seat-sharing formula between the Congresss and SP will be announced within two to three days. Confirming the news, spokersperson of Congress, Hilal Ahmad Naqvi has said that all the formalities in this regard are being completed in Delhi.
Raj Babbar, state Congress president is also present in Delhi to finalise the process, said Naqvi.
There have been reports that Akhilesh Yadav may visit Delhi soon to hold talks with Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi.
