Delhi govt orders fire safety audit at all hospitals after Odisha inferno

In the wake of the fire tragedy at Bhubaneswar hospital, Delhi government has ordered a fire safety audit at all its hospitals and sought a report on it to ensure no such mishap occurs in the national capital.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain Thursday held a meeting with senior government and medical officials to review the fire safety measures in place at various city hospitals.

During the meeting, it was also decided that dedicated teams would inspect all hospitals within seven days to ensure that all staircases, corridors, roofs and open spaces are kept free of any encroachment.
