Delhi High Court to hear plea seeking MHA report on poor food to BSF soilder

17 January, New Delhi

The Delhi High Court Tuesday sought a response of the Union Home Ministry on a plea seeking its status report on alleged poor quality food being served along the LoC, as claimed by a BSF soldier on social media.

The court also issued notice to Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Sashastra Seema Bal and Assam Rifles seeking their stand on the issue.

It directed BSF to produce before it the investigation report and the steps it has taken with regard to allegations levelled by the BSF jawan in the video.

The bench, however, refused to issue any direction with regard to not taking any action against the jawan, as sought by the petitioner, saying it will not go into it.

The petition was filed by a former central government employee in the wake of the video posted by the jawan on Facebook claiming corruption among officers and poor working conditions.
