Delhi Traffic Police today issued advisory for the Republic Day parade in order to ensure free and uninterrupted movement.The traffic police have effected several diversions on the route of the parade on January 26.
The parade will start at 0950 hrs from Vijay Chowk and pass through Rajpath-India Gate – Tilak Marg – Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg Netaji Subhash Marg to reach Red Fort.
According to Traffic police, no traffic will be permitted from Vijay Chowk to India Gate on Rajpath from 1500 hrs on January 25 till parade is over.They also said that no cross traffic on Rajpath from 2300 hrs on January 25 at Rafi Marg, Janpath,Man Singh Road till the parade is over. Also traffic on Tilak Marg, will not be allowed from 0100 hrs on Republic Day on both thedirections.
Cross traffic will only be allowed depending on the movement of the parade.The Traffic police said that they have arranged a ‘Park and Ride’ scheme for invitees of certain categories. Officers upto the rank of Directors and equivalents, Service Officers, War Widows, Freedom Fighters and MLAs can park their vehicles at the designated locations.
The movement of the City Bus Services will be curtailed at– Park Street/Udyan Marg, Aram Bagh Road (Pahar Ganj ), Delhi Sachivalaya (IG Stadium), Pragati Maidan (Bhairon Road), ISBT Sarai Kale Khan and Kashmiri GateThe advisory said that the Metro Rail Service will remain available for commuters at all Metro Stations during the Republic Day Parade.However, entry/exit at at Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan Metro stations willremain closed from 0000 hrs upto 1230 hrs.
In Patel Chowk and Race Course Metro stations, entry and exit will remain closed from 0845 hrs to 1230 hrs. Central Secretariat station will only be used for interchange of passengers between Line two and Line six.
