Delhi Traffc Police will be organising five-day Road Safety Awareness Summer Camps for schools during the summer vacation this year. It is writing to all the schools in the Capital so that maximum number of students participate in the camps.
The police is organising the camps for children/students of Delhi free of cost with a view to inculcating good road safety habits in them.The programme will also focus on risks of driving by minors, which is increasing in Delhi.
Interesting activities such as awareness about road safety rules, traffic signs, road markings, film shows, nukkar nataks and first aid will be undertaken. There will be question-answer sessions, competitions and awards to be won. Road safety literature, calendars, caps and other gifts will be provided to the participants.
The five-day camps will start on May 18 and end on June 26, from every Monday to Friday, at 5 Traffic Training Parks at Punjabi Bagh, Roshan Ara Bagh, Bal Bhawan, Pragati Maidan and Baba Kharak Singh Marg on a first come,fi rst serve basis.
We hope maximum students will enrol and benefit from these camps and use their summer vacation meaningfully and become responsible, safe and traffic rule-abiding drivers in future. It is also expected that they will carry back the road safety knowledge to their homes and schools and convince their family members and friends to obey traffic rules to drive safely”, Special Commissioner of Police Traffic Dr Muktesh Chander said Saturday. .
