Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya today said that the Employees State Insurance Cooperation (ESIC) entered into an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Directorate General Factory Advice Service and Labour Institute (DGFASLI) to set up Occupational Health Related Training Institute (OHRTI)and to extend necessary training to the ESIC doctors.
Talking to newsmen here, Dattatreya said that as part of strengthening social security schemes, ESIC entered an MoU with the DGFASLI who were expertise in the field of occupational health related diseases. Workers are affecting largely with the work related diseases. It was necessary to take training by the ESIC doctors to tackle such work related diseases, he said.
The first such training institute was setup at Faridabad recently, Dattatreya said and added that four more training institutes to be set up at Mumbai, Chennai, Kanpur and Kolkata.
Apart from organised sector workers, unorganized sector workers including construction would benefited largely with the new initiative, he said.
