H S Prannoy bows out of Japan Open Super series in Tokyo

In Badminton, H S Prannoy has lost to Shi Yuqi of China in the men’s singles quarterfinal match of the Japan Open Superseries in Tokyo today. He went down fighting 15-21, 14-21 in the fixture. Kidambi Srikanth also bowed out after losing against Viktor Axelsen of Denmark a short while ago. Srikanth was overpowered by his opponent in two sets 17-21, 17-21.

In the mixed doubles, Indian duo, Pranav Jerry Chopa and N. Sikki Reddy won the tie against South Korean pair of Seung Jae Seo and Kim Ha Na. They defeated the Koreans 21-18, 9-21 21-19 to cruise into the next round. Earlier, Indian challenge in women’s singles ended with ace shuttlers, P.V. Sindhu and Saina Nehawal bowed out of the tournament.
