Haryana Health and Sports Minister Anil Vij said that the state would set up Vyayam and Yoga schools in each of the 6500 villages of the state to give recognition to the old system medical system of India.
The Minister informed that in the first phase these institutes would be opened in 1050 villages and later on these would be expanded all over the rural area. He said that this scheme was being introduced in collaboration with The Patanjli Yoga Ashram being run by Yoga Guru Ram Dev.
Presiding over the function organised by the Elders Forum of Ambala here Sunday , he said that one person from each village would be picked up to get training in yoga from the Patanjli Yoga Ashram who would be paid worker and all expenses would be born by the state government. On completion of training from the Ashram he would impart training to the residents of the village.
He said that the physical training teachers in the schools would be trained in yoga who would give training to the students in vacant period. He said that the aim of such yoga education was to bring change in the 67 years old worn out system.
Vij assured the members of the Elders Forum that the state government was quite alive to address the problems of the senior citizens and had planned schemes to give honour and relief to them.
He assured the Forum that he would use his good offices to get the settled in the Elders Home by giving possession of the Forums building which was a disputed property due to claims made by otherpeople. He announced financial aid of Rs 1 lakh to the Forum.
