India Sunday expressed its concern over an explosion in a Gurudwara in western German city of Essen which has left three people injured, and asked the Indian mission to follow up the matter with the local police.
Reports from Essen said the blast was ”quite violent” as it blew off several windows. ”Distressed to hear of an explosion in a Gurudwara in Essen in Germany. Our Mission is following up with local authorities on ground situation,” Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted today.
The local police said a masked man was seen fleeing the site after the explosion, but could not find any immediate evidence of the crime’s link with terrorism.A wedding had taken place in the Gurudwara earlier in the day and those injured were reported to be guests.
