India will achieve 8 per cent growth rate in this financial year, Union Minister of State for Finance Arjun Ram Meghawal said Sunday.
Speaking at the International conference, organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on the theme “Jnana Yajna-The Quest for Excellence” at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), here, Meghawal said the Agriculture sector will also achieve 4 percent growth rate during the current fiscal. ” For the first time, both –Economy and Agriculture sectors posting higher growth rates in the country”, he said.
The Minister said “for the past 20 years, China was leading the world economy and presently it is on decline. At the same time, Indian economy growth rate is increasing”, he said.
The Western countries and economists have predicted that Asian countries will lead the world in 21st century, the Minister added.
The BJP-led NDA government was fighting against corruption, the Minister said, complicated policies and methods were the main reasons for increase of corruption in the country.
