India women cricket team on Friday lost against South Africa in Johannesburg, after registering their win in the first two T20 internationals.
Chasing a modest total of 134, the Proteas swept home with five wickets in hand. For her wonderful spell with the ball, Shabnim Ismail was awarded as the Player of the match. This was after she picked up a fifer and reduced the Indian total to 133 at the end of 20 over.
Earlier, it seemed like that India will surpass the 160 run-mark, but wise bowling and fielding restricted them to 133.Harmanpreet Kaur top-scored with 48.
However, the Indian bowlers failed to live up to the mark and could not stop the duo Sune Luus and Chloe Tryon from scoring freely. Tryon, in particular, attacked the bowlers and smashed 34 off just 15 deliveries, thus taking her side home. Losing star player Mithali Raj in the very first over for a duck proved to be a disasterous for Indian team. Mithali had not been dismissed in the series going into the third match after notching up scores of 54 not out and 76 not out in the first two T20s, however, Marizanne Kapp got her on the fifth ball of the match.
