Wholesale price-based inflation remained in negative territory for the 17th month in a row, at minus 0.85 per cent in March this year. But prices of some food articles, mainly pulses, turned costlier. Wholesale inflation had stood at minus 0.91 per cent in February this year.
Food inflation rose slightly to 3.73 per cent in March, from 3.35 per cent in February, official data showed today. Wholesale inflation in vegetables was minus 2.26 per cent, and in pulses 34.45 per cent in March. Wholesale inflation in the fuel and power segment was minus 8.3 per cent, and in manufactured products minus 0.13 per cent in March.
