Promoting his upcoming movie ‘Madari’, which is based on the life of a common man in a unique style, the actor met the Chief Minister to highlight the problems of people and talked about how the political world has changed and about freedom of expression in India.
The actor put to him several questions on changes in the nation’s political system and about freedom of expression. Later addressing mediapersons Irrfan said, “Everyone have to come together to bring the changes they want, a single person cannot change the society.”Sharing about his discussion with Kejriwal, the actor said, “He (Kejriwal) said the common man will have to participate to bring the change. One man cannot bring the change. It doesn’t happen like that… We all have to come together and understand the system and participate to bring the change.”
Over his appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, “the Prime Minister has asked for the hard copy of the letter to know what we are talking about, so we are getting that ready. If he invites, then we will go there.”
“Our goal was to go there as a common man and talk with those who are running the system. The goal was not to criticise them. The idea was to discuss about the system and the challenges,” he added.
Irrfan’s movie explores a father-son relationship and traces the plight of a common man who loses his son in an accident. The movie also stars Jimmy Sheirgill in a pivotal role. The film, which is slated to be released on Friday, also highlights the political system of the nation.
