Malaysia Open Badminton tournament has begun in Kuching, Sarawak. Rio Olympics Silver medalist PV Sindhu, who won her first India Open recently, and Saina Nehwal will lead the Indian challenge.
The Indian pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy have qualified for the main draw and will be playing tomorrow in women’s doubles event. They won their qualification game today, against Indonesian pair of Afiat Yuris Wirawan and Nadya Melati 23-21, 21-5.
In women’s singles event, Sindhu, Saina and other Indian shuttlers will begin their campaign tomorrow. While Sindhu will take on China’s Chen Yufei, Saina will meet Akane Yamaguchi of Japan.
