Maoists set afire 7 vehicles in Kalahandi

Panic gripped the Jamakana area under Sadar Police station in Kalahandi district after some Left Wing Extremists set seven vehicles deployed in road construction on fire late last night.

Kalahandi Sadar SDPO Biranchi Prasad Dehuri said as many as 40-50 ultras barged into a camp of the contractor laying road from Gunduri to Kadama under the Prdhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and set the vehicles on fire after asking the workers to leave the place.

They have not done any harm to the workers.Posters found at the spot read the vehicles were set on fire as they were opposed to the construction of road.On March 18, a resident of Karlapat was killed by a group of armed Maoists.
