Home Ministry has given a clean chit to the Delhi police on the raid at Kerala House over a complaint that beef was being served at the canteen. In the Lok Sabha Tuesday , Home Minister Rajnath Singh read out the report which was submitted by the Special Investigation Team.
He said, the police had only gone there to gather information based on a complaint and there was no violation of rules.
Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi had defended the raid saying the police had done nothing illegal and were well within their rights under the Agricultural Cattle Preservation Act 1994 to investigate.
In October, nearly 20 police officials had gone to Kerala House after Vishnu Gupta, a Hindu Sena leader, called and complained that the canteen at the state guest house was serving beef.
