The mortal remains of CRPF Jawan Manoranjan lenka, died in a land mine blast triggered by the Maoist in Sukma District of Chhatisgarh yesterday were consigned to flames in his native village Rebena Nuagaon under Brahmagiri block of Puri district with full state honour.
Manoranjan was one of the nine jawans died in the land mine blast while they were returning to their base camp at Kistaram in a Mine Protected Vehicle.
A special aircraft carrying his body reached Biju Patnaik International Airport this morning.
Odisha Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh, School and Mass Education Minister Badrinarayan Patra and Finance Minister Shashi Bhushan Behera CRPF IG Kamalakanta Sharma paid their last tribute to the departed soul at the airport.
Many of his closed relatives were also present at the Airport to have a last glimpse of the martyr.
From the Airport his body was taken in a procession to his native village.
Thousands of villagers lined up in both sides of the road and also congregated at the cremation site to pay their last tribute to their hero.
The villagers broke down as the body arrived in the village.
Many could not believe that Manoranjan is no more. Manoranjan had come to his village a few days back for the last rites of his father and was killed a day after he reached Sukma in the land mine blast on his birth day.
