Biju Janata Dal supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today called upon the party workers to counter strongly to some political parties indulging in false propaganda against the Odisha Government.
Launching the ten day long Jana Sampark Padayatra of the party of the BJD here, Patnaik without naming any political party said “Some political parties are indulging in false propaganda and campaign against the work of the state government and “you should counter their campaign more strongly.”
Patnaik also raked the central negligence by the BJP led NDA government at the centre towards Odisha and asked the party workers to apprise the people during the ten day long padayatra the apathy and negligence shown to the state by the central government.
The BJD chief said the people of Odisha have always rejected them adding that the people of Odisha were never with them and will not be with them in future also. Biju Janata Dal, Patnaik said always believes in work and kept its promises made to the people.
The padayatra, the Chief Minister said is aimed at connecting every household and family with the development and the service to the people was the prime motto of the party.
He said, during the last 17 years rule the BJD had given the good governance and fought for the interest of the state. The various programmes undertaken by the government has created an image for the state in the country.
Patnaik claimed that poverty had been reduced by 25 per cent in the state during the BJD rule, projecting the state at the top ladder in the country. This apart on many fields the state had surpassed the national average and awarded by the centre, Niti Ayog and World Bank.
The ten day long padayatra will conclude on October 11 coinciding with the birth anniversary of Jay Prakash Narayan. The padayatra will cover all the blocks and districts and constituencies where party workers, leaders, MLAs and ministers would apprise the people about the various achievements of the BJD government during the last 17 years rule.
The party would also raise the demand for Special category status for Odisha, the injustice shown to the state by the BJP led NDA government and the centre’s tacit support to the Chhatisgarh government on Mahanadi water dispute, demand for hike in minimum support price for the paddy and hike in the prices of petrol and diesel.
