Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Saturday scotched all speculations over his return to NDA by saying his party, JD (U) and other coalition partners of the grand alliance government RJD and Congress were making joint efforts to fulfill the poll promises.

After attending the lunch organised by RJD Chief Lalu Prasad at his residence on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Kumar said,”We are aware of the size of the mandate, grand alliance received in the last Assembly election and we are constantly engaged in fulfilling all poll promises. We are making attempts for the speedy growth of the state”.

Kumar in an obvious reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi , “We are not like others who forget their poll promises after coming to power”.”Grand alliance leaders have taken a resolve to fulfill all promises made under the common programme of the alliance,” he remarked.

A noteworthy bonhomie was also seen between Kumar and Prasad at the function when RJD supremo applied ’tilak’ of curd on his forehead.Apparently overwhelmed by the gesture, Kumar said, “Prasad blessed me by applying Tilak of curd on my forehead. I am thankful to him”.He said he also considered himself fortunate to attend the special lunch organised at the residence of Prasad on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.
