Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Wednesday said the quality of roads would be monitored by utilising services of drones.
Kumar, during a high level meeting of rural works department to review progress of ongoing projects, directed the officials to maintain quality of roads at all cost and it would be monitored by drones.The officers found guilty of not discharging their duties to ensure quality, would face stringent action, said Kumar.
“Officials found guilty of not discharging their duties properly in maintaining quality of roads would face stringent action”, chief minister said, adding that rural works department had vital role to play in improving the quality of life of those living in villages.
Kumar said a new reservation policy had been formulated for awarding road construction contracts and it should be followed in letter and spirit by the officials engaged in inviting tenders.
