Odisha government Monday cancelled the leaves of all medical and para medical staff and ordered them to remain present in their respective headquarters to meet the possible public health situation likely to be arisen due to the cyclonic storm Kyant that may hit the State around October 28 and provide health relief to people.
In a letter, state secretary for health and family welfare asked all district medical officers to keep the ambulances, gen sets, emergency medicines like ORS, Halazone tablets, anti-diarrhea drugs and disinfectants in all health institutions ready as a precautionary measure to meet any eventuality.
She also asked the district medical officers to monitor the drug position in the district as well as in sub divisional level and place indent for medicines, if required.
The district medical officers were asked to prepare contingency plan for deployment of staff from non-affected areas within the district for deployment whenever required.
The officers were also asked to ensure health service delivery through health institutions and movement of mobile medical teams as per district plan.
