More than 200 scientists and academicians will attend the 48th annual convention and an international conference of the Operational Research Society of India (ORSI) to debate on operational issues in development sector here from December 17 to 19.
ORSI Bhubaneswar chapter president Rabi Narayan Subudhi said ORSI would be holding its conference for the second time in Bhubaneswar after a gap of 22 years at the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER) under the SOA University.
He said around 110 research papers including eight from abroad will be presented during the conference on topics including coastal maritime, agricultural extension operational issues, optimistion issues in agriculture, fisheries sciences, revenue management and, financial analytics.
This apart health wellness and insurance sector, marketing operations and efficiency measures, public systems operations management, development sector-operational issues and challenges and stastical and mathematical models for development will also be figured in the conference.
Prof Arabinda Tripathy, the programme chair of the event, said many reputed researchers and academicians from India, USA, Australia, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Malaysia had already confirmed their participation in the three-day event.
ORSI periodically comes up with its findings and resolutions which are passed on to the government and research fraternity for implementation and practice.
ORSI, he said makes an integrated and multi disciplinary approach to solve various problems faced by the government and the private organizations by roping in scientists, policy makers, management experts, engineers and local people.BM
