In Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu has been sworn-in as the new Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Sunday at Raj Bhawan in Itanagar.
The Governor Tataghata Roy administered the Oath of Office and Secrecy to him. Chowna Mein was also sworn-in as the Deputy Chief Minister.
Earlier on Saturday Nabam Tuki resigned as the Chief Minister paving the way for Mr. Khandu to take over the CM’s post.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu after swearing in as the new Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh in a press briefing on Sunday said his priority would be to clear all the pending projects in the state.
On being asked about the implementation of Kalikho pul’s budget Khandu said that he would first look in to the legality of it.
He envisaged to work as a team Arunachal, coming above party line, for the development of the state. On North East Democratic Alliance, NEDA, he said earlier being with the People’s Party of Arunachal they were part of NEDA but after the Supreme Court’s ruling they were brought back to Congress and now they are Congress.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein said that 37 years old Pema Khandu is a matured and dynamic leader with a vision under whose leadership Arunachal Pradesh would see a new dawn.
