PM Modi reaches Gujarat on 2-day visit; Holds roadshow in Surat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Surat on his two day visit to Gujarat Sunday. He was welcomed by Governor of Gujarat O.P.Kohli, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel and other dignitaries at the Airport.

About 50 divyangs have also welcomed the Prime Minister Modi at Surat Airport on his arrival. Prime Minister has proceeded for a 12 kilometres long road show from Airport to Circuit House in Surat.

Large number of bike riders has joined the road show along with thousands of people on both sides of the road. People have also lit up 2 thousand oil lamps in the Tapi River to welcome the Prime Minister.

Earlier, in a series of tweets, Prime Minister Modi shared details of his two-day visit to Gujarat and Dadra Nagar Haveli. In one of his tweets, Prime Minister has said that visiting the vibrant city of Surat is a matter of great joy.

Apart from his grand welcome at Surat Airport and reception during the huge road show this evenving, Prime Minister has very hectic schedule on tomorrow. Modi will inaugurate a multi-speciality hospital at Katargam and a diamond processing unit at Ichhapore in Surat tomorrow morning.

In another program at Bajipura near Surat, Modi will inaugurate SUMUL Dairy cattle feed plant and lay foundation stone for other projects. He will lay the foundation stone of various irrigation schemes & inaugurate a drinking water supply scheme that will benefit the people living in Tapi district.

In Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Prime Minister will inaugurate government projects & distribute sanction letters to beneficiaries of various Govt. initiatives.

During the last leg of his visit, Prime Minister will go to Botad to dedicate the phase 1 – of Link 2 of Saurashtra Narmada Avtaran Irrigation – SAUNI Yojana to the nation. Prime Minister will also lay foundation stone of Phase 2 of Link 2 of SAUNI Yojana before leaving for Delhi.
