PM Modi Reaches Moscow For India-Russia Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived Moscow this evening on a two-day visit to Russia to attend 16th Annual Summit meeting. The Summit level meeting will take place tomorrow.

The talks between the two countries at the highest level have been taking place alternately in Moscow and New Delhi since 2000. President of Russia Vladimir Putin will host a private dinner later this evening for Mr Modi. The two leaders will discuss issues of mutual concern there.

In his pre-departure statement this morning , the Prime Minister said that his visit to Russia will deepen the cooperation between the two nations in the economic, energy and security spheres.

A high-powered Indian business delegation is accompanying the Prime Minister . Several leading private industrialists Anil Ambani, Adi Godrej, Sudhir Mehta, Baba Kalyani, Ravi Ruia and others are among the delegation, which also includes leading public sector organisations – Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Indian Oil, Oil India, ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Canara Bank, etc.
