PM participates in 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday exhorted people to adopt the path of Guru Govind Singh ji Maharaj and maintain high moral values, standards and social harmony in their lives.

Addressing devotees at Patna on the occasion of 350th birth anniversary of Guru Govind Singh ji Maharaj, Modi said, Guru Gobind Singh ji’s entire life was devoted to serving the people and fighting for values of truth, justice and compassion.

The Prime Minister said Guru Govind Singh ji did not believe in any form of social discrimination and he treated every one equally. Modi said Guru ji put knowledge at the core of his teachings and inspired so many people through his thoughts and ideals. He said the world should know how Guru Govind singh ji has inspired so many people.

Modi said, he is delighted to be part of Prakash Parva celebration of Guru Gobind Singh ji. He said people remember the great personalities who belong to Bihar. He said people from Bihar have distinguished themselves and served the nation.

Earlier, he bowed in reverence in front of the holy Gurugranth Sahab. Our correspondent reports that a makeshift gurudwara has been set up at Gandhi Maidan. The Holy Gurugranth Sahib has been installed in view of Prakash Parv celebrations. Prime Minister Modi also released special commemorative stamps on Prakash Parv.

Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal, Union Minsters Ravi Shankar Prasad Ram Vilash Paswan and Harsimrat Kaur were present on this occassion.
