President Pranab Mukherjee, who is on a three day visit to Nepal, emphasised on the role of innovation and creativity in research.
Speaking at a special convocation programme organised by Kathmandu University, Mukherjee said, development of talent of students and faculty members of educational institutes is important.
President Pranab Mukherjee said that having an ambiance of recognising and developing the talent is equally important in context of research and development for its effective results. He congratulated ‘Kathmandu University’ for becoming centres of excellence for educational development.
Mukherjee’s emphasis on development of knowledge economies and encouraging innovation among youth, was appreciated by dignitaries, academicians and educationists attending the function.
On the occasion, Mukherjee was also conferred honorary degree of Doctor of Letters. On the second day of his historic and goodwill friendship visit, President visited Pashupatinath Temple. He visited the temple complex and performed Puja.
Tomorrow he will also visit Pokhara and Janakpur. The visit reflects the priority that Government of India associates for strengthening its age-old unique partnership with Nepal and the shared historical and cultural linkages and wide-ranging people to people contacts. Z
