As part of the ‘soft Hindutva’ agenda CongessPrisident Rahul Gandhi today went around temples in North Karnatakaand asked the people of the state to reject the BJP in the comingAssembly election.
After visiting Hyligemma temple and Gavi Math in Koppal after thePublic meeting in Hosapate Yesterday, Mr Gandhi on Sunday visitedKanakagiri, Kanakachala temple on route to Ganagavati.
The Kanakachalapathi temple is a 16th-century Hindu templededicated to the god Vishnu. It is located in the town ofKanakagiri, in the Gangavathi taluk of Koppal district.
After the Kanakagiri temple visit Mr Rahul is expected to visitfamous Mallikarjun temple run by the dominant Lingayat communityin Gangavati later of the day.
Mr Gandhi’s four-day trip to the Hyderabad-Karnataka region willalso include a visit to Kalaburgi Khaja Bandenawaz Darga,Sharanabasava temple, Anubahava Mantapa in Basavakalayan, Bidar
Dubbed as ‘soft Hindutva’ to counter BJPs hard line Hindutava,Mr Gandhi began visiting temple during his Deoria-Delhi Kisan Yatrabefore the Uttar Pradesh elections. During his Gujarat campaign,he visited as many as 27 temples.
