Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has asked to take stern action against the officials responsible for the death of 11 mentally retarded children who were living in a hostel of Social Welfare Department in Jamdoli near Jaipur.
In a high level meeting in Jaipur Saturday, Mrs. Raje said that this incident should be viewed very seriously and officers responsible for it should not be spared irrespective of their hierarchy.
She also instructed the officers of Medical, PHED and Social Welfare Department to conduct a special survey of all the hostels run by the government and ensure that there is no lapse in the facilities relating to potable water, health, hygiene and cleanliness.
As already reported, government has initiated an inquiry into the Jamdoli incident.
