Rs.35,000 Cr. petro-chemical complex to come up in Kakinada: CM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said the entire East Godavari district was poised for rapid development with the setting up of Rs.35,000 crore Petro Chemical Complex at Kakinada for which approval was accorded.

Addressing a public meeting at the Ananda Bharati grounds after inaugurating the Swachh Andhra Pradesh rally and planting a sapling as a part of Vanam Manam programme here today, he said, the petro chemical complex would generate lot of employment to the locals besides changing the entire economic scenario of the region.

He claimed that Andhra Pradesh was the first state to spearhead the campaign on Open Defecation Free (ODF) village concept and said that the government was committed to provide good environment and eradicate the mosquito menace through the ` Arogya Andhra Pradesh ‘ programme.

The Chief Minister called upon the people to combat the mosquito menace taking it as a movement involving the students and other sections of the society and strife for making the state free from mosquitoes on the lines of Sri Lanka.

He also asked the employees to observe every Saturday as environment protection day by taking up cleanliness programme in their offices and also at home.
