Sridevi’s mortal remains arrives in Mumbai, cremation on Wednesday

The special flight carrying the mortal remains of veteran actor Sridevi arrived in Mumbai on Tuesday evening, ending the long wait for her fans, family members and people from the film world.

The private jet of Anil Anbami, which flew Sridevi’s mortal remains from Dubai, landed at Mumbai airport on Tuesday evening.

Accompanying the body of the actress were Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor, his son Arjun Kapoor and Boney ‘s brother in law Sandeep Marwah. Her last rites will be performed on Wednesday evening.

The last rites of veteran actress Sridevi, whose mortal remains brought to Mumbai tonight, will be conducted on Wednesday.

Condolences and the last respects to the 54-year-old will be paid at Celebrations Sports club in Mumbai between 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The cremation ceremony will take place at Vile Parle’s Seva Samaj Crematorium and Hindu Cemetery from 3:30 pm onwards.

Meanwhile, the Kapoor family, in a statement, expressed bereavement and shock ” with the untimely loss of Sridevi Kapoor.”

“We thank the film fraternity, media, fans of late Sridevi Kapoor and all the well-wishers for their prayers, support and sensitivity during our moment of immense grief. We request you to kindly join us in paying our last respect to a remarkable actor, beloved wife and loving mother,” the statement added.

Sridevi passed away on late Saturday night in Dubai, where she was attending a family wedding.

According to the forensic report, the 54-year-old Indian actress died of accidental drowning in her hotel room’s bathtub, after suffering a dizzying spell.

This was contrary to the earlier reports which cited cardiac-arrest as the reason of the death of the actress.
