Continuing to storm the box office, Salman Khan-starrer ‘Sultan’ has earned a gross revenue of Rs 423 crore worldwide in just eight days of its release, becoming the fourth highest Bollywod grosser worldwide, trade sources said Friday.
The film has till now grossed Rs 423 crore across the world.Trade sources say that Sultan has thus become the fourth highest Bollywood grosser worldwide, with just ‘PK’ (Rs 792 crore), ‘Bajrangi Bhaijan’ (Rs 626 crore) and ‘Dhoom 3’ (Rs 542 crore) ahead of it in terms of worldwide gross earnings.
The film has now beaten the lifetime total of Bollywood blockbusters like ‘Dilwale’, ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’.Based on the life of Olympian wrestler Sultan Ali Khan’, ‘Sultan’ has been drawing an excellent response at the box office ever since it release on the eve of Eid on July 6.
It became the fastest Bollywood film to cross the figure of Rs 200 crore.The sports-drama film, which has Salman in the title role and Anushka Sharma in the female lead, has earned Rs 229.16 crore in India in nine days.
Produced by Yashraj films and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, ‘Sultan’ also features Randeep Hooda, Amit Sadh and Parikshit Sahni in key roles.
