In its sustained effort to reach out the public quickly at the time of distress, the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police in Odisha added a new feather to its credit – a specially designed mobile “APP” on the occasion of its 8th raising day Thursday.
The mobile “APP” was launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik .
The mobile application of Commissionerate Police would help in effectively reaching out to the masses by using the benefits of modern communication technology, Patnaik said while unveiling “App”.
“ I call upon all members of the Police force to make use of technology to improve their overall performance and provide a safe and secure atmosphere to all citizens, especially women and senior citizens” Chief Minister said urging Commissionerate police to deliver their best in their services to society.
Patnaik also expressed his happiness that a number of innovative initiatives have been taken to build up a people friendly image of the Police .” Steps like police-public interface, activation of Senior Citizens’ Security Cell , Public awareness Programmes for crime control , imparting training to each and every police personnel on improving behavior and attitude and reaching out to the people through interacting website have instilled in the pubic a renewed faith and confidence”, he said.
He urged the Commissionerate Police to deliver their best in their services to society.
The new modern mobile application would enable the public to contact police directly and instantly.
The mobile APP has all data including details of all Police Stations, their land line numbers, mobile numbers of all the officers and the entire range of services provided by the Commissionerate Police, said the Police Commissioner, Dr.RP Sharma.
