Assuring protesting JNU students that the administration was fully cooperating with the police in tracing the missing student Najeeb Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor of the University M Jagadesh Kumar today urged them to suspend their agitation.
Najeeb Ahmed, a student of School of Biotechnology, went missing on October 15 after an altercation with some ABVP students at the Mahi-Mandavi Hostel.
The VC also appealed to Najeeb Ahmed to return and resume his academic activities without fear stating that a fair inquiry has been initiated.
Yesterday, the protesting students had also locked the VC along with some senior officials in the administrative building.
Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju told reporters that the University administration was doing what it has to do and gheraoing the VC and other officials was sad.
He said that some students were doing politics which was spoiling the name of the University.
Meanwhile, the Delhi police have also put up posters in the campus announcing a cash reward of Rs 50,000 for anyone giving clue about Najeeb Ahmed.
