Virat scores maiden double ton, Ashwin hits a Ton as India firmly at top

Resuming at an overnight score of 144 runs, Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli registered his maiden double hundred, here at day two of the first Test match against West Indies.

The Indian captain has been dismissed for an even 200 by Shannon Gabriel after launch.

At lunch on the second day, Virat is unbeaten at 200 runs. Partnering him at the other end is Ravichandran Ashwin, who is unbeaten at 64 runs. Later before tea , Ashwin also hit a century (103).

This was the third hundred in Tests by Ashin and first against West Indies.

By virtue of his double hundred, Virat became the first ever Indian Captain to have an overseas double century.

This is also his highest first class score, beating his previous best of 197 runs, which he scored way back in 2008.

AtTea ,India have put on 512 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Ashwin was batting at 106 while Amit Mishra was 23.
