What Salman said is unfortunate, insensitive: Aamir on Salman’s ‘rape analogy’

04 July, New Delhi

After Bollywood actor Salman Khan drew flak from several women organisations for his ‘rape analogy’ while describing his experience of shooting for ‘Sultan’, superstar Aamir Khan termed his comments ”unfortunate” and ”insensitive”.

”I feel what he (Salman) said is unfortunate and rather insensitive,” Aamir said at an event to release the poster of his forthcoming film ‘Dangal’.

During a group interaction for his film, Salman, when asked about his experience of shooting for ‘Sultan’, said after coming out of the shoot he felt like a ”raped woman”. His comments drew outrage from women across the country with the National Commission for Women demanding an apology and asking him to appear before it on June 8.

Earlier, Salman’s another contemporary Shah Rukh Khan had evaded reply on his comments. When Shah Rukh was asked to comment on the Salman controversy, he said, “I myself say so many things, who are we to decide or not decide what he (Salman) should be or shouldn’t be doing. Personally speaking, I don’t think I can make any comments on this, I am so inappropriate myself.”
