4 from Odisha among 140 police officers selected for Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation

The Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation Of the year 2023 has been awarded to 140 Police personnel.
Four police personnel from Odisha have been selected to receive the prestigious award in recognition for their Excellence in Investigation. They are Pravat Kumar Biswal. Dy SP,Sundergarh, Prasant Kumar Sahoo, Inspector,Ganjam, Smt.Durgesh Nandini Mohanty. Inspector, Cuttack UPD and Manas Ranjan Pradhan, Dy SP, Sundergarah.
The award is announced on the 12th of August every year. This medal was constituted in 2018, with the objective to promote high professional standards of investigation of crime and recognize such Excellence in Investigation.
As per the Home Ministry, among the personnel receiving these awards, 15 are from CBI, 12 from NIA, 10 are from Uttar Pradesh, 09 each from Kerala and Rajasthan, 08 from Tamil Nadu, 07 from Madhya Pradesh, and 06 from Gujarat and the remaining from the other States, UTs, and Organisations. Among the awardees, twenty-two are Women Police Officers.
