Union Health Minister JP Nadda Launches Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Odisha

Union Health Minister JP Nadda today launched the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Odisha. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana will be implemented alongside the Odisha government’s Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana and ‘Ayushman Vaya Vandana Yojana’, in in the state.
Launching the three schemes at Bali Yatra Ground in Cuttack, he said that as many as 61 crore people in the country are availing themselves of the scheme’s benefits.
Nadda pointed out that the out-of-pocket expenditure has declined from 62% to 38% today as a result of the Ayushman Bharat scheme”. He also highlighted that under the 100-day TB Intensified Elimination Programme, Odisha proactively participated identified 16,500 new cases. “Under PM ABHIM, Rs. 1,411 crores have been provided for strengthening the healthcare infrastructure of Odisha”, he stated
Mr. Nadda said the Centre has spent 1.26 lakh crore rupees over the last six years on the treatment of poor people. .
P Nadda and CM Majhi distributed cobranded cards of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri – Jan Arogya Yojana and Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana, in Cuttack today. The Ayushman Vaya Vandana Yojana was also launched during the event.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Mohan Charan Majhi highlighted that launch event as “another feather added to Odisha’s development story”. He stated that “from today onwards, beneficiaries of Odisha will get free healthcare facility. Odia people residing outside the state will also get the benefit. They can avail the facility in the hospitals in and outside the state.”
Jual Oram, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs; Mukesh Mahaling, Minister, Health and Family Welfare, Odisha and Members of Parliament and Legislative Assembly of Odisha were also present on the occasion.
