Union Home Minister assures LWE affected states special assistance for development

Union Government will give special attention to the development of Left Wing Extremism affected states particularly Bastar region in Chhattisgarh said Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
Singh while reviewing the developmental projects and other strategies to combat Left Wing Extremism in Chhatishgarah, Telangana , Odisha, Maharashtra Mondaty at New Delhi Monday hinted that central government may consider necessary relaxations in the policies and schemes for the development of these areas.
Union Home Minister reviewed the developmental projects relating to roads, bridges, railway lines, mobile towers, post offices, banking infrastructure, education, health, radio and TV connectivity and forest and environmental clearances in Left Wing Extremism affected States.

The meeting was chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh with the Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra and senior officials of Telangana and Odisha in New Delhi .
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Dr. Raman Singh brought out the need for installing higher capacity TV and radio stations including FM radio stations for better connectivity in the Bastar region. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted the issue of pending road works of about 150 kilometers and the work of Indirawati bridge in the state.

The Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Odisha and Telangana focused on the developmental projects pending in their States and necessary central assistance.

Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Smriti Irani, Suresh Prabhu and Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore also participated in the meeting besides senior officials.
