CBI secures extradition of wanted fugitive Vainket Garg from Georgia

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully secured the extradition of wanted fugitive Vainket Garg from Georgia to India today. This was done in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Haryana Police.
CBI said, Vainket Garg, a known gangster, was wanted in a number of cases registered by Haryana Police for offences relating to Murder, extortion, organized crime and use of illegal firearms. The agency informed that the accused was arrested during the course of investigation, but after being granted bail he absconded and fled from India.
The investigative agency said that a Red Notice was published against the accused through INTERPOL channels at the request of Haryana Police and National Central Bureau. The escort team of Haryana Police visited Georgia where he was handed over to Haryana Police.
The CBI said that more than 160 wanted criminals have been successfully brought back to India in the last few years through coordination between different agencies.
