President Droupadi Murmu arrives in Rairangpur of Odisha in a two-day visit, to celebrate her 68th birthday tomorrow

President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Rairangpur of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district this afternoon.Her arrival was delayed due to adverse weather conditions.
The President, who was scheduled to land at Dandbose Airstrip in Rairangpur this afternoon on a special Air Force aircraft to begin a two-day visit to her home state, travelled by road from Kalaikunda Airbase in neighbouring West Bengal.
Official sources said unfavourable weather conditions necessitated a change in the travel plans of the President. The President’s convoy proceeded to Rairangpur via Bangiriposhi and Bishoi and she reached the town late in the afternoorn with tight security arrangements along the road route.
At Rairangpur President Murmu was welcomed by among others Governor of Odisha Dr.Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi,Mayurbhanj Lok Sabha member Nabacharan Majhi, State Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling , Rairangpur MLA Jalen Naik and Chief Secretary Anugarg.
Later President Murmu inaugurated several public welfare and infrastructure projects at Rairangpur including a satelite center of AIIMS , a rural piped water supply project, Matrushakti Bhawan of the Brahma Kumaris, a special circuit house and the newly created Rairangpur Police District.
Tomorrow, the President Mrrmu will celebrate her 68th birthday in her native region.Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to join her in Rairangpur at a major public function marking the completion of two years of the Odisha Government.
President Murmu will dedicate two major railway infrastructure projects worth ovr Rs.732 crore to the nation at Rairangpur tomorrow in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
President Murmu and PM Modi will jointly unveil projects worth Rs.47,600 crore in Odisha tomorrow.
