Government orders removal of three e-vehicle apps over security concerns

Government has ordered the removal of the BAT-BMS, Epoch-i-ion and Lossigy apps from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store over security concerns.

The action followed allegations that the applications were being used to remotely disable e-vehicles, including e-rickshaws.

Sources in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said, order has been given to remove the app stores. It said that the decision was taken due to security concerns and the possibility of misuse. The matter is under investigation and is being closely monitored.
