Union Ministers hail PM Modi’s Indonesian civilian honour

External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar has said that the conferment of the ‘Bintang Adipurna of the Republic of Indonesia’ on Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a matter of immense pride for all Indians.
In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar said the honour is a testament to Prime Minister Modi’s steadfast efforts to deepen the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and strengthen India-ASEAN ties.
Instituted in 1959, the ‘Bintang Adipurna of the Republic of Indonesia’ (Star of the Republic of Indonesia) is the country’s highest civilian honour. It is awarded to individuals who have rendered outstanding service to the unity, continuity and prosperity of the Republic of Indonesia.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on being conferred Indonesia’s highest civilian honour, the ‘Bintang Adipurna of the Republic of Indonesia.’
In a social media post, Mr Singh said the honour is a resounding recognition of Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership, transformative statesmanship and steadfast commitment to advancing India’s national interests while strengthening global partnerships based on mutual trust, respect and shared progress.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also congratulated Prime Minister Modi on receiving Indonesia’s highest civilian honour. In a social media post, he described it as a proud moment for the nation.
Mr Pradhan said that from ancient maritime links to a dynamic contemporary partnership, India and Indonesia have nurtured a relationship anchored in trust, mutual respect and expanding cooperation. He added that, as a key partner in ASEAN, Indonesia remains central to India’s vision for a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive Indo-Pacific, and that the honour reflects the enduring strength of this special partnership.
