DRI Foils Attempt to Illegally Export 56 Kg Methamphetamine to Saudi Arabia, Two Arrested

New Delhi, August 19
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has foiled an attempt to illegally export around 56 kilograms of methamphetamine from India to Saudi Arabia and arrested two persons in connection with the case.

According to DRI, during the operation the powder form of methamphetamine was recovered from an export consignment at Nava Sheva Port.

The contraband was concealed by mixing it with maize in one of the 351 bags in the consignment. DRI said, the concealment method involved mixing a large quantity of methamphetamine with maize and presenting the consignment as an ordinary agricultural commodity.

The agency said, the modus operandi appeared to have been designed to evade routine examination and detection during export.
